About us
Welcome to thewritersblog.co.uk! If you love all things (or are seeking all things) related to words, writing, creative marketing, communicating and connecting, then you’re in the right place – which is here.
I hope you enjoy the posts on this site, most of which come from great writers who feel differently about the world, life and people. We’re all mainly a bunch of people who want to make a difference and at the top of the pile – is me…
I’ve set up thewritersblog.co.uk with the hope of sharing experiences, life and business ideas with you and offer businesses (big and small) our freelance writing skills.
If you’re a writer, and feel you could/want to be a part of this project, then please let me know… I’ll be thrilled to hear from you.
If you’re a business looking to improve the results you get from your content, then we can help you talk to and connect with your customers. Get in touch and let’s start the conversation.
Till then,
Bian
About Bian Salins
In a nutshell, I am a writer, blogger, social media marketer and last but definitely not least, an entrepreneur. I like to use words to bring people together, to inform, share, educate and connect.
My writing mainly focuses on life’s lessons and business learning but my freelance skills extend to writing newsletters, ghost blogging for businesses, direct marketing, website content and more… Often, I seek out other great writers who feel like I do and bring their talents to you via this blog.
My background:
I am of mixed culture. I say that because I was born and grew up in Mumbai, India but halfway through life, moved to England. For anyone who has lived in two contrasting cultures such as these, you will know that experience is everything and communication can either make or break you. That’s why I chose to excel in it.
I started out as a journalist for one of India’s most creative, inspiring and nonconformist companies, Rediff.com. From there on I went on to be Associate Features Editor for ELLE magazine (India) which taught me that if you want it, you can get it.
In England, I’ve worked with some of the best (they say) like
- The Times Education Supplement as Reviews Editor
- British Telecom as Managing Editor
- Boomerang Media as Online and Communications Manager
Over this time, I’ve learnt a lot about business and reaching out to people through communication. And thewritersblog.co.uk is where I start to apply my learning for other businesses – big or small.
If you’d like to use our freelance services, please get in touch so we can talk about your project.
Also in the family are:
Abi Levinson – Abi worked with me at the Times and since then has gone on to manage Boots’ newsletter and other pieces of communication. She has also done freelance direct marketing work for BT. Not only is Abi a great writer, she is a fantastic sub-editor.
Shiv Paul - Shiv is a talent extraordinaire… I first met Shiv when he was travelling as an actor and writer in India and from there on – he has written a novel, runs his own blog and works for Mckinsey Consulting in New York. Not to mention that he has a great eye for fashion and sings a tune pretty darn well.
James Salins – Story teller, film and food buff, master mind and so much more… James is our sales and advertising expert and also our man about town. If you want writing that sells, then James will put your communications right.
